Don't say I didn't tell you.

So I'm changing things up a bit....oh don't get my wrong, this will still be about all the Delectable Delights Dallas has to offer. Food, check. Bars, check. Salons, check. Strip clubs, check...wait, scratch that. *awkward pause* Shopping, errands, check.

LET'S DO THIS!

Eno's - Bishop Arts

What can I say about this absolutely delectable pizza tavern?

Well, their drinks are superb.
The pizza is so fresh...
The dessert is....hold on...I have to pause and gather thoughts.

To start:
The appetizers are ok, DEFINITELY DO NOT get the roasted bread...it should be called a roasted disaster. Taste's like cardboard. The server even looked at us funny when we ordered it. I'm thinking about starting a petition to get it off the menu, it's almost an insult.
Sooo....get the Truffle Cheese bread instead, that was...amazing.
Personally I would bypass the apps altogether to save room for dessert...I promise it's coming.

Main Course
The Pizza
They have about 7 specialty pies, all of which are delicious...as well as ingredients at the bottom you can choose from. It's a classic thin crust style...
If you want two specialty pies, they can split the pizza down the middle...you know half and half , very accommodating.

Sandwiches/Pasta's
Obviously I haven't tried all of them, but the Linguine is ridiculous. I could shower in it. Yes, it's that good.

D...E...S...S...E...R...T
Three words...ENO'S SUNDAE SACK
This beautiful creature was just named "Best Dessert in Dallas" by D Magazine.
Let's see...hmm...
It comes beautifully served in a gold plated small skillet...on it is a large chocolate hard shell (think big rectangular cake slice). Inside this chocolate goodness are three scoops of house made spumoni ice cream (vanilla), topped with canoli cream, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, walnuts, cinnamon sugar THEN a layer of hard fudge...then a repeat of the toppings. With whip cream and 3 cherries on top...oh and hot fudge...oh and graham cracker crumbs (lots of it!). Are you drooling yet? It's $12 and worth every penny! This is not your average ice cream bar at Souper Salads (shout out to Pia!).

Annoying Pictures, Images and Photos

Few things...
1. If you don't like to pay for valet (i.e. my BF), you'll spend at least 20 minutes looking for a spot, seeing as the Bishop Arts district is always bumpin...If you don't mind valet, you can do it at Hattie's across the street.
2. The crowds on the weekends are abnoxious...rightfully so...but just be prepared to chill. They have awesome Adirondack chairs in the front to lounge in...and like I said, they're drinks are killer. *Sidenote: If you don't want to wait, the neat thing is, is that you can give your number to the hostess and she'll call you when your table is ready, that will give you some time to walk around the cool shops...try Epiphany (across the street) cute cute cute jewelry and also fun t-shirts that sometimes remind me of my Gadzook's days...ah, middle school grunge phase.
3. It can get somewhat crowded in the restaurant, I'm assuming retail space is pricey, but its somewhat of a small space, just for you claustrophobic peeps.

To sum it all up...Eno's is life changing. Truly. When you mush it all together you come out with this little slice of heaven (you like the pun?).

Starving till next time...

Victory Tavern

I've been hearing a lot of mixed things about Victory Tavern next to the AA Center....so I decided to give it a shot.

I made reservations for 4 at 7:30pm...the Mavs were playing at 8, which made for an interesting crowd when we got there. We were sat within 3 minutes of arriving and were taken upstairs to our table. (I LOVE good service!!! Nothing like a rotten waitress to ruin your mood!)

Overall, here is what I have to say...

The service was very good, the server was attentive and not pushy. It was clear to him that we were there to have a nice (not rushed) time. When we all were done with our first round of drinks, we ordered the calamari as an appetizer. The dish came within 5 minutes and it was FANTASTIC!!!! Definitely a recommendation! However, while looking at the menu, I found it to be very limited, not a whole lot of options, they didn't even have a simple grilled chicken dish?!? The only chicken they have is a Chicken Scallopini...and when I asked the waiter what he thought about that dish he said it was "tangy". OK...what?

The only salads they had were side or appetizer salads. They had no dinner salads, which I found to be irritating seeing as I wanted a big yummy salad for dinner (in the words of Elaine from Seinfeld "but they don't have a Big Salad"). However, they were accommodating when I ordered the Spinach Salad before my entree...I asked if they could leave off the bacon and it was no problem. Came to the table without bacon as ordered (I love when they get it right)! I ordered the salmon as my entree only because I couldn't find anything else that sounded good...BF had fish and chips which he said were ok...friends had Baby Back Ribs (which he said was great, sorry folks, I don't eat oinkers) and his wife had the salmon as well (I think she ran into the same problem as me).

I think this would be a better place to go for appetizers and drinks before going out. They have 2 large TV's at the bar to watch games (obviously) and 1 TV upstairs, which of course the hubby, BF's will like. I'm also not sure if its a great casual dinner out type place.
**Sidenote for vegetarians out there: They had lots of great appetizers and salads too. The Portobello fries were great (BF ordered them as a side) and we got the Lava cake for desert which was RIDICULOUS!
Oh, try a Irish coffee after dinner...definitely a nice end to the evening.....naturally...

Pros: Great Drinks, Appetizers, Atmosphere, Valet Parking
Cons: Limited Menu, Traffic (before and after games)

I feel like if we had gone to Houston's, we would have had a better meal and paid the same amount.....I'll definitely go back, but only as a pre-requisite to having a night out...
Starving till next time...

Happy Hump Day...

Since it's Wednesday...middle of the week blues setting in...I figured what better way then to have a fantastic Happy Hour after work to get yourself pumped up...

The 5 best places for Happy Hour:

1. Gingerman more beer than you can deal with, crowded, get their early to sit outside...best place
2. Stoneleigh P stiff drinks and the bartenders aren't shy...plus you have erotic video games at your fingertips...
3. Belmont Bar overlook of Downtown Dallas at sunset...heavenly
4. Gloria's can't go wrong with $3 Margaritas and unlimited supply of chips, salsa and black bean dip...
5. The Quinn (in Oak Cliff) this little known bar is...FANTASTIC! Comfy couches line the walls and the outdoor patio is relaxing. Wicked juke box...strong drinks, open late late late.

First things, First....

Dig in...

So lately, a ton of people have been telling me I should start a blog...about restuarants...in Dallas. Seeing as I don't like to go the same place twice in a month, you can imagine how many fabulous (and not so fabulous) places i've been too...I love to eat...obviously.
So I started Delectable Dallas, because g-d knows...Dallas loves to eat.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! If you want me to review any other restaurant, that I haven't blogged about, just let me know...chances are i've been to it!

Cheers Dallas!!
